In order to
better serve our clients, CMHA is making major
changes to the application process in our
leasing office. Beginning February 2, 2009
CMHA’s Leasing Office will no longer see
applicants for public housing on a walk-in
basis. Exceptions may be made for those that are
elderly or disabled.
Applications will continue to
be accepted at CMHA’s leasing office from 8:00
a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday,
however applicants will no longer have to wait
for an appointment with a housing specialist.
The
applications will be placed on
a waiting list documented by date and time. Once
it is determined that a unit has become
available eligible applicants will be contacted
by an invitation letter to attend a group
briefing.
To complete an application, please bring or make available the following information:

Birth certificates for each household member
|

|
|
•
|
Social Security cards or proof of legal U.S. status for each household member
|

|
|
•
|
Proof of household income (paycheck stubs, SS/SSI verification letter)

|
Current police background checks for all household members age 18 and over
|
|
|
|
•
|
Current landlord information: name, address and telephone number
|
|
|
|
•
|
Proof of all household assets (bank statements, real estate deeds, etc.)
|
|
|
The application process will take a minimum of five working days to complete. All applicants must also attend a resident orientation session before leasing with CMHA.
