CMHA’s 2012 Utility Allowance and Payment Standards information is now available on our website at http://www.cintimha.com/hcv-documents.aspx.

• Fair Market Rents (FMRs) are lower in 2012 than in 2011.
• CMHA’s payment standards are based on 100% of FMRs, resulting in lower payment standards for 2012.
• Effective January 1, 2012, the lower payment standards will impact affordability for new move-ins.  The 2012 Affordability Calculator is also now available on our website.

Contract rent increase requests are not impacted by changes to the payment standards.  They are accepted or denied based on whether or not the new contract rent is deemed reasonable rent.
