The waiting list for CMHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program is now closed. 

Tenant-based vouchers increase affordable housing choices for very low-income families. Families with a tenant-based voucher choose and lease safe, decent, and affordable privately-owned rental housing.

	Submit a pre-application to CMHA when the Waiting List opens.
	All families selected by a random lottery will be placed on the waiting list.
	CMHA determines a need to select applicant's from the Waiting List.
	CMHA will notify those at the top of the list and will request information from those applicants.
	CMHA will determine the applicants eligibility for the HCV program (i.e. income & background checks).
	CMHA will invite eligible applicants to a briefing.
	CMHA will issue vouchers to families immediately following the briefing.
	Applicants begin search for suitable housing.
